To Support Those in Their Darkest Hours
Daisy Chain Foundation under the auspices of QHVSG exists to support those affected by homicide and to offer a guiding light in times of darkness. People who were once just like you – with no experience of what it is like to have someone you love deeply taken from you in a sudden and often times, violent manner.
Daisy Chain Foundation was formed in 2013 by Queensland Homicide Victims’ Support Group to try and help remove the taboo from what is for all intense purposes an unspeakable crime and to make it okay for people to talk about it in a more open, understanding and compassionate way. It’s important to remember that NO-ONE is ever prepared for homicide, not the victim, not the victim’s family, friends or work colleagues. It is one of the most confronting and distressing criminal acts known to man and it is our mission to bring this very word – homicide, and all it encompasses to the attention and hearts of our broader community.
Daisy Chain Foundation is committed to:
- Increasing awareness of QHVSG and the role it plays in supporting surviving victims of homicide through specialist peer support, special events, fundraising initiatives and community awareness campaigns
- Increasing funding through corporate sponsorship of DCF events, awareness campaigns and private philanthropists
