It May Help to Heal the Pain
Daisy Chain Foundation not only raises funds for QHVSG, but offers Members and indeed any person who has been subject to homicide related violence, with a unique forum to share their personal story with others. You may ask why anyone would want to share such a tragic story in a public forum? With homicide in particular, there are so many ‘unknowns’ and misperceptions. It is a crime that stirs great curiosity with the public and sadly much of the information conveyed to them, is often incorrect and even hurtful, which only adds to the pain for those left behind. By sharing the real story, from those who actually knew the victim, people are able to give their own unique insight into the person whose life was taken and also the impact it has taken on their own lives. It can be a deeply healing process to express and share these insights with those who can only imagine.
Hopefully through the sharing of these stories we will all be able to work towards a more tolerant and aware society, and where homicide does not become ‘just another’ news story.
If you or someone you know would like to share your story with us please email your story to firstname.lastname@example.org.
